Asked about Frankie’s future with the Blaugrana, Koeman said: ‘He wasn’t able to play the whole game before because of the problems he had, but he’s a great player and is back in top form.’
‘I know he loves Barcelona, but I’m not the one who decides whether he should extend his contract or stay with the team.’
De Jong has been back to something like his best form in 2025 and managed to regain his place in Hansi Flick’s starting XI. He’s also back in the Dutch team and will be hoping to secure a semi-final spot in the Nations League on Sunday.
